How to Create a Realistic Glass Morphism Effect in Adobe Photoshop
WHAT IS GLASS MORPHISM?
Glass Morphism is a user interface (UI) design trend that creates a frosted glass effect to give a sense of depth and modernity to interfaces. It's characterized by semi-transparent panels with blurred backgrounds, subtle light borders, and other elements like layers, gradients, and shadows.
The glass morphism effect has become a trendy design style in the world of user interface (UI) design. This effect consists of producing a transparent design with a blurred background and incorporating a glass-like appearance on certain design elements. This results in a polished and contemporary design that is both practical and visually appealing. This tutorial will demonstrate how to use Photoshop to create the glass morphism effect.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a glass like overlay effect in Adobe Photoshop known as Glass Morphism.
Apply a fill and disable the stroke completely.
Draw any shape you like.
Hold Shift + Alt. To keep the sizes equal and proportional.
Release the tool by clicking on that icon.
Turn off the foreground layer. Hold CTRL and click on the layer thumbnail to create a selection around the canvas.
Click on these alignments to center the shape on the canvas.
Highlight the shape layer. Double click to open the layer style window or click on the fx icon and choose Blending options.
Apply Bevel and emboss, modify the settings like so.
To achieve the same results you need to follow along.
Apply Gradient overlay, Choose a transparent gradient and change the colors like so.
Unhide the foreground layer and select it.
Right click and choose Create Clipping Mask to embed the photo into the shape.
Go to filter and apply a Gaussian blur.
Set the radius according to how blurry you want it to look or feel free to use the exact as seen on my screen.
With the same layer selected, Load the filter gallery.
Open the folder named Distort and choose and choose Glass from the preset list.
Modify the settings like this and confirm it.
Well done. Now you can place what you want on inside the shape.
To change the photo, double click on background layer (Smart object) to open it as a new document.
Navigate to file and click on Place embedded.
Choose a different photo and confirm it.
Resize the photo to fully fit into the canvas if it doesn't and press enter to confirm the changes.
Press CTRL + S to update the photo in the main document. You can see it's saving the changes.
When you want to change the photo, Just repeat the process and save it.
